Your website is the first appointment a patient never books
Long before a new patient sits in your chair, they visit your website, and they decide fast. Stanford's research on web credibility found that 75% of people judge whether a business is trustworthy based purely on how its site looks. For a dentist that is decisive: a dated, cluttered, or slow site quietly tells a prospective patient that the care inside might be dated too, and they move on to the practice next door before they ever pick up the phone.
Speed makes that judgment even harsher on a phone, where most local searches now happen. Google's data shows 53% of mobile visits are abandoned if a page takes more than three seconds to load, and 61% of users will not return to a mobile site they struggled with, with 40% going straight to a competitor. A beautiful site that loads slowly still loses the patient. The website has to look credible and respond instantly, or the visit ends before it starts.
